HOW TO FILE A WORK INJURY

HOW TO FILE A WORK INJURY

Filing an OWCP injury claim can be straightforward if you follow these key steps! Start by reporting your injury to your supervisor right away—ideally within 30 days—to ensure you’re on the right track. Next, seek medical attention and let your healthcare provider know it’s work-related. Then, complete the necessary claim form (CA-1 for accidents or CA-2 for ongoing conditions), providing detailed information about what happened. Submit this form to your employer, who will send it to the OWCP, and don’t forget to keep copies for your records. Stay proactive by checking the status of your claim, and remember, if you face a denial, you have the right to appeal. Your path to recovery starts here—don’t hesitate to take the first step!

Mileage Reimbursement

Based on the OWCP guidelines OWCP pays the claimant for travel to and from the medical provider, to and from any therapy treatments, and to and from the pharmacy for medicine used for the injuries. All medical travel is based on the Federal Travel Regulation (41 C.F.R. 300-304). At OWCP Doctor Network we will assist with the necessary forms needed to receive your mileage reimbursement.
